The Basketball World

A busy basketball stadium with a crowd going wild.

A fully featured depiction of a domed stadium, with (mostly) animated crowds and a relatively sizeable (though barren) back area. The teams are sitting by the sidelines, and the scoreboard proudly hangs above the court. The hoops are even fully modeled, potentially the most detailed 3D objects of any V-Chat world.

In-World Links
Many ads line the sides of the stadium, predominantly advertising CBS Sportsline and the brackets/schedule for March Mania hosted on their website. There are also ads for Internet Explorer, the Microsoft V-Chat page, and for AudioNet: "The Broadcast Network on the Internet."

Additional Notes/Information
The event taking place seems to be the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, known and branded as March Madness. As stated above, there are several links to the CBS Sportsline website regarding March Madness, and a March Madness logo can be seen in the center of the court - though while similar to existing official March Madness logos, it does not seem to match any given one.
The links date the event as March Madness 1998, which was played in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, implying this world is a recreation of - or loosely based on - the Alamodome.

While the textures for the bracket seen in the back area and scoreboard are blank, the actual score is not left empty. Though I have no idea how to interpret the numbers on the board, it seems the home team has a standing of 05 and the away team a standing of 23. This does not seem to match the 1998 March Madness event, though these numbers may have been taken from a game still in-progress.

While the initial assumption would be that the textures of the teams sitting in this world were pictures of the actual teams playing against eachother during this event, a quick glance at the texture reveals them to be the same image with re-colored outfits - one team white, the other red. While the recycling of textures makes it unlikely that either image is an accurate photo of either team, the colors seem to match the Kentucky Wildcats and the Utah Utes - The champions and runners-up of March Madness 1998, respectively.
